Kathmandu. Nepal Automobile Importers and Manufacturers Association (NAIMA) has revealed the main details of Nepal Mobility Expo 2026 in Nepal.
The expo will be held at Bhrikutimandap in Kathmandu from August 26 to 31. The event will feature 51 stalls, more than 55 brands and 40 new launches. Products related to two-wheelers, four-wheelers, commercial vehicles, electric and hybrid mobility solutions, technology, services and mobility will be showcased during the expo.
Ritu Singh Vaidya, President of NAIMA, said that the company which started from 21 member companies a year ago included automobile importers and manufacturers of Nepal has now expanded to 36 major member companies. According to him, this growth is a clear reflection of the trust the industry has placed in NIMA, the need for a unified platform and its growing role as the responsible voice of Nepal’s mobility sector.
President Baidya said that the overall work direction of NIMA is not limited to the expo but is also linked to mobility, access, employment, entrepreneurship, public service delivery and economic growth. She said that the country will move forward if mobility improves and opportunities expand and people’s activities and businesses can run smoothly.
She said that in the past year, NIMA has been continuously advocating for reforms in the mobility sector, successfully completing the first edition of the expo, providing capacity building training to 1,610 traffic police personnel in Kathmandu Valley, providing emergency support for reconstruction of offices severely damaged during the recent protests, and support to Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office and Transport Management Department.
NIMA has been collaborating with government agencies to conduct workshops on traffic management, road safety, public awareness programs and participation of national and international experts. At least 10 percent of the ticket proceeds of the expo will be allocated to research fellowships and training initiatives, and the research and articles generated through the fellowship will be published in the journal NIMA Mobility.
In view of the high demand received from members and industry stakeholders, NIMA is also considering to organize more mobility expos targeting the commercial mobility brand and related stakeholders. President Baidya expressed regret over the inability to provide stalls to some interested members and stakeholders due to lack of space and stressed the need for bigger and modern exhibition infrastructure in Nepal.
Another major attraction of the expo will be the learning sessions in the auditorium hall of Nepal Police Club’s Blue Pavilion. There is no fee to participate in these sessions. These sessions will be led by experts, professionals, academicians, industry leaders and influencers. The sessions will cover topics such as mobility, technology, road safety, consumer awareness, skills, employment and future of Nepal’s mobility sector.
