The construction of a hydropower project at Rishing rural municipality-1, Jhaputar is moving ahead in a rapid manner. According to project chief Shyamji Bhandari, works are underway in three packages.
The project has achieved 75.5 per cent progress so far. Construction of headworks including dam under package 1, main tunnel, powerhouse and related equipment under package 2 and 220 kV Damauli-Bharatpur transmission line under package 3 is going on.
The physical progress of the dam and other structures has reached 59 percent. Similarly, the construction of hill erosion, access road, temporary dam and two diversion tunnels has been completed for the construction of the main dam.
Similarly, the main concreting work of the powerhouse, cable tunnel, search tank, tailrace and other structures has been completed. Its physical progress is 77 percent. According to him, the work of concrete lining of the main tunnel used to divert the reservoir water to the powerhouse is underway. Out of 94 towers under the transmission line, the foundation work of 78 towers has been completed.
