PM Shah meets construction entrepreneurs: Discussions on payment, deadline extension, contract management, banking and investment challenges

. KATHMANDU — Prime Minister Balendra Shah held a meeting with representatives of contractors on the issues relating to existing problems in the construction sector, promotion of construction business and development of physical infrastructures.

During a meeting with the office-bearers of the Federation of Contractors’ Association of Nepal (FCAN) at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Prime Minister Shah said the construction sector was an important basis for economic development, employment generation and infrastructure development in the country.TAG_OPEN_div_14

He stressed the need for active and TAG_OPEN_div_12 effective cooperation of all sides to complete the development works on time by making the construction business dignified, transparent, responsible and result-oriented.

FCAN President Nicolesh Pandey, Senior Vice-President Mukesh Panta, General Secretary Shiva Hari Ghimire, Bagmati Province Vice-President Bal Krishna Thapa and FCAN former President and advisor Jayram Lamichhane were present in the meeting.TAG_OPEN_div_10

They apprised the PM about the challenges faced by the construction sector related to payment, deadline extension, contract management, timely project implementation, price adjustment, banking and investment.TAG_OPEN_div_8 They were of the view that the collaboration between the government and the private sector should be made more effective to make the construction industry dynamic.
