Kathmandu. Ganesh Nepali, who attempted self-immolation in Tripureshwor, died while undergoing treatment.

The 25-year-old Nepali of Soru Rural Municipality-1 in Mugu district sustained 60 per cent burns and was receiving treatment at Bir Hospital. Spokesperson of Kathmandu Police Range, Pawan Bhattarai, said that he died while undergoing treatment at the Kathmandu Police Range.

He had suffered serious injuries to his face, head, neck and other important parts of his body.

He was intubated in the emergency room and put on a ventilator after he was diagnosed with difficulty in breathing.

On Thursday, he tried to set himself ablaze by sprinkling petrol in front of the Passport Department in Tripureshwor, Kathmandu.
