Kathmandu. Ranju Neupane (Darshana) of the ruling Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has urged the government to be serious about the reason behind Ganesh Nepali being forced to self-immolate.
Making her views public through social media, lawmaker Neupane said the government should not be limited only to bearing the medical expenses of Ganesh Nepali. She said that the government should find out the real reason why Ganesh Nepali is on the stage of self-immolation and learn from that for policy formulation and working style.
“The condition of millions of youths who are struggling with the daily thinking of ‘I can’t do it, should I die’ is linked to the social and economic structure, and psycho-counselling alone is not enough solution,” she said. According to him, creating an environment where the basic needs of the citizens are fulfilled is the basis of mental security.
Accusing the government of not showing sensitivity towards lactating mothers, lactating women and the elderly, she said she had drawn the attention of the House of Representatives and the bodies concerned time and again on the issue of management of landless squatters.
Lawmaker Neupane stressed that the government should give priority to policies and programmes to alleviate the sufferings of the working class and poor citizens.
