Kathmandu. Rotary Club of Nepal Mandal, established as a new club under Rotary District 3292, has received the Charter Certificate and the first inauguration ceremony has been held.

The special ceremony was held to mark the beginning of the club’s official journey on June 24, 2026 after receiving a charter from Rotary International.

On the occasion, District Governor of Rotary District 3292, Bishnu Bahadur Karki, handed over the certificate of Rotary International to the Charter President of the Club, Devendra Lal Shrestha.

District Governor Karki administered the oath of office and secrecy to newly elected Rotary President Uttam Babu Bhattarai for the year 2026/27. Newly elected Chairman Bhattarai administered oath of office and secrecy to the office-bearers and members of the new working committee.

Madan Puraskar winner senior litterateur Yubaraj Nayaghare, former governors of the district, assistant governor Deepak Shrestha, new club advisor Ejaz Alam, leaders of various rotary clubs and human rights activists were present on the occasion.

President Uttam Babu Bhattarai said that the club would carry out concrete works in the areas of health, education and environment by adopting this year’s motto of ‘Let’s Create Lasting Impact’.

The club announced that it had launched the ‘Mountain Cleaning Program’ as its main plan. Vice-president of the Club and mountaineering guide Tshering Jangbu Sherpa will organize a 1,700-km long trek to the Great Himalayan Trail starting from next month.

In addition to this, the Club has also set up social works like construction of girls-friendly toilets in community schools, establishment of scholarship fund, health camp for senior citizens, establishment of RCC Kalinchowk and Rotaract Club of Nepal Mandal.

Although a new club, the Rotary Foundation has been declared a Sustainable Member Club on the day of its inception, with all 22 members contributing $2,200 each to the club
