Kathmandu. Engineer Atma Krishna Shrestha has been honoured with the Nanda Prasad Januka Memorial Award 2083 BS. The Nanda Prasad Januka Foundation has been presenting the Nanda Prasad Januka Memorial Award along with Rs 25,000 each year and letter of appreciation to Shrestha who has been actively involved in the educational and overall development of Dolakha district, said Foundation Chairperson Ajaya Babu Shiwakoti. Shrestha would be honoured amidst a programme to be organized in Kathmandu on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Nanda Prasad Shiwakoti on August 4.

Shrestha, 88, who retired as Joint Secretary of the Government of Nepal, is the founder and chairman of Gaurishankar Multiple Campus, Charikot, founder and chairman of Gaurishankar Community Library, Charikot, founder and chairman of Singati Community Hospital, Singati. Shrestha is the founding president of Dolakha Development Forum, founder of Rupa Memorial Library, founder of Rupa Foundation, former president of Dolakha Lions Club and chairman of Dolakha Guthi.

The foundation was established in the name of educational leader, social and political personality Nanda Prasad Shiwakoti and his wife Januka Shiwakoti of Dolakha district.

The Foundation has been honoring and awarding people who are engaged in the campaign of making Dolakha prosperous through educational development and social transformation. Educationist Milan Raj Tuladhar was honoured with the Nanda Prasad Januka Memorial Award in 2082 BS. Journalist Shambhu Gautam was honored in 2081 BS.
