Kathmandu. Iran’s pro-government media have published strong warnings targeting US President Donald Trump, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other senior US and Israeli officials following the death of US Senator Lindsey Graham. These publications have indicated that tensions with the United States could escalate further.
The headline “Prepare for an accidental death” appeared on the front page of Iranian daily Hamshahri, linking images of Trump, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Prime Minister Netanyahu and other officials. The material also includes a picture of Trump kneeling in front of a photo of Graham.
Another Iranian newspaper, Bhatan-e Imroz, made headlines on Graham’s death in its July 13 edition with the headline “Death of the merchants of death”. The newspaper described Graham as one of the leading proponents of America’s tough policy against Iran and said he died “suddenly” after falling ill.
Meanwhile, a state media reporter commented on Graham’s death and publicly said that the anti-Iran US senator had been sent to hell. Such statements have sparked further debate on social media and in US political circles.
According to the report, some groups associated with the pro-Trump Make America Great Again (MAGA) campaign have floated various conspiracy theories about Graham’s death. Some have called for an investigation into the possible involvement of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in the attack. However, no official evidence has been made public in this regard.
Graham, a South Carolina senator, has long been a supporter of America’s aggressive foreign policy. He repeatedly called for continued military support to Ukraine, open support for Israel in Gaza, and change Iran’s current regime.
During the Gaza war, he became more controversial when he said that Israel could use nuclear weapons if necessary. He also called for the overthrow of the Iranian government after the February 28 attacks.
In an interview with Fox News, Graham argued that ending Iran’s regime would change the balance of power in the Middle East and create economic opportunities.
Before the start of the latest conflict with Iran, he had made several trips to Israel and met with Mossad officials. According to him, the information received from those meetings was not provided by his own government.
According to The Wall Street Journal, Graham also held talks with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during the visit. In the report, Graham said that intelligence provided by Netanyahu played a role in convincing President Trump to take joint military action against Iran.
Earlier, he had urged regional powers, including the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, to join a possible military action against Iran.
