Sunsari. Two persons died and another was injured in a road accident involving the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) in Dharan this morning. The accident took place near Seuti Bridge at Itahari Sub-metropolis-20 along the Dharan-Itahari-Koshi Highway last night.

The jeep (Ba 1 J 1651) en route to Itahari from Dharan met with the accident at around 11.30 pm, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Chandra Bahadur Khadka, Information Officer at the District Police Office, Sunsari.

Jeep driver Birkha Rai of Dharan-13 and Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) employee Suman Acharya of Dharan-16 were seriously injured in the incident. Both of them were rushed to Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences where doctors pronounced them dead at 12.45 am, said Information Officer Khadka.

Padam Rai of Dharan-20, who was injured in the accident, is undergoing treatment at BPKIHS. Investigation into the incident is underway, said the District Police Office, Sunsari.
