Deposits of banks and financial institutions increased by 10.3 percent

Kathmandu. Deposits of banks and financial institutions have increased by 10.3 percent till mid-June of the current fiscal year.

According to Nepal Rastra Bank, deposits have increased by Rs 748.62 billion to Rs 8.12 trillion in the first six months of mid-June.

Such deposits had increased by 8 percent (Rs 517.60 billion) in the same period of the previous year. Deposits in banks and financial institutions have increased by 15 percent in mid-June 2008.

The share of current, savings and fixed deposits in the total deposits of banks and financial institutions stood at 6.9 percent, 46.6 percent and 37.3 percent, respectively.

Such shares were 5.7 percent, 36.2 percent and 50.2 percent respectively in the same period of the previous year.

The share of institutional deposits in the total deposits of banks and financial institutions stood at 33.7 percent as of mid-June. The share of such deposits was 35.5 percent in mid-June 2082.
