Heavy rain forecast today, caution urged

Meteorologist Sanjeev Adhikari of the Department said that the influence of monsoon wind is prevailing throughout the country at present.TAG_OPEN_div_18 KATHMANDU: Monsoon trough is a little above the average location in the west and around the Tarai area of Nepal in the eastern part of the country, hence chances of heavy rainfall in the next three days.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, there are chances of heavy rain at few places of the hilly and terai regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces today.TAG_OPEN_div_16 Heavy rain is likely to occur at one or two places of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.

According to the Department, the people in the affected areas should take special precaution as the risk of mudslide, flood, landslide and soil erosion will increase due to the possible rainfall.TAG_OPEN_div_14 The Department urged one and all to regularly follow the latest weather information as it could affect daily life, agriculture, health, tourism, mountaineering, road and air transport.

The weather will be generally to completely cloudy throughout the country this afternoon. Likewise, moderate rain with thunder and lightning is predicted in most of the places of hilly and mountainous region while snowfall is predicted in some places.
