Kathmandu. In the last 24 hours, the highest rainfall has been recorded at Sainamaina of Rupandehi. According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the region received 153.2 millimetres rainfall.
Meteorologist Binu Maharjan said heavy to very heavy rainfall occurred at some parts of Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces, and at some places of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces in the last 24 hours. However, Madhes Province received relatively less rainfall during this period.
According to Maharjan, there has been no heavy rainfall in any part of the country in the last six hours. Light to moderate rainfall has occurred in most places of the past few days. According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, 24 millimetres rainfall was recorded in the western Tarai region of Lumbini Province.
Likewise, there is the possibility of moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning at some places of the high hilly and mountainous region towards the afternoon. According to Meteorological Forecasting Division, moderate rain is likely to occur at many places of the Terai region and at some places of the Madhes province, Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces.
According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, there are chances of heavy rain at few places of the hilly and terai regions of Koshi and Sudurpaschim provinces. Likewise, heavy rainfall is likely to occur at one or two places of the hilly region of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.
Likewise, moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely to occur at many places of the hilly region of Madhes and Bagmati provinces, at a few places of Gandaki and Lumbini provinces and at a few places of hilly regions of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces tonight.
According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, there is the possibility of heavy rain at one or two places of the hilly region of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces tonight.
