Two firms fined by the department

. The Department of Commerce, Supplies and Consumer Protection has taken action against two firms.

According to the Department, a fine of Rs 10,TAG_OPEN_div_14 000 has been imposed on Eve Collection based in Mahalaxmi Municipality-2, Imadol after it was found to be negligent during the on-site monitoring.

Similarly, Amisa Store located at Kathmandu Metropolitan City-32, Sudhinagar, has been fined Rs 5,TAG_OPEN_div_12 000. Action has been taken against these firms as per the Consumer Protection Act, 2075.

The department had monitored 10 firms on Monday.TAG_OPEN_div_10 Eight of these firms have been given corrective directives. The department has said that regular monitoring has been carried out in the presence of consumer rights activists.

The Department has made it clear that necessary directives and actions have been taken as per the Consumer Protection Act, 2075 and Consumer Protection Rules, 2076 while monitoring the business firms.TAG_OPEN_div_8
