Kathmandu. Have you been deceived into foreign employment? After knowing that you have been cheated, you have gone to the Department of Foreign Employment with the documents of the complaint or have you thought about going to the office?
The government has implemented the system of filing complaints online. The online portal named ‘Complaint Dofe Government Nepal’ has now made it possible to file complaints related to fraud from the comfort of one’s home. Not only will the complaint be filed online, but the detailed information about the process of processing the complaint will also be known online.
KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Youth, Labour and Employment has introduced an online complaint system to address the problems of migrant workers who have been cheated in foreign employment. Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security Ramji Yadav had reached the Department of Foreign Employment today to enquire about the portal. Minister Yadav said that the online portal has been launched to address the problems of workers who have been cheated due to the temptation of foreign employment. According to him, the government would bring to book all those involved in fraud in the name of foreign employment, adding that an online portal was necessary to provide justice to the victims as soon as possible.
Minister Yadav also urged the department to reach out to the department and meet the victims and service recipients to avoid being cheated and to file online complaints about the fraudsters or incidents. “Now, we don’t have to go to Kathmandu to file a case of fraud,” he said. It will be easier to register cases online from home and understand the process of action of the case. ”
In the online complaint portal launched by the ministry, the victims have to go to the portal from their mobile or computer and collect the necessary evidences and submit the complaint. Once the victim submits the complaint online, the Department team studies it and proceeds with the registration process and the information will be sent to the concerned person’s mobile phone through message and email once the complaint is registered.
The system also allows victims to track the status and progress of their complaint at any time using the tracking code provided in the message. According to the department, 14 complaints have been registered in four days through the system, which came into full effect from July 17.
Employees are also practicing to develop habits in the use of the online complaint registration system. An employee at the Case Registration Section of the Department said, “We have been registering online complaints from the same office of the service recipients who come with the complaint file.” He said that most of the service recipients do not know that there is an online complaint system and they come to the office with files.
Basanta Thapa, who was cheated by the temptation of foreign employment at the department, said that the department does not have information about the provision of online complaint. He said he came to know about the system only after coming to the department. He, however, said that the general public should be adequately informed about the online complaint system.
Rohit Kurmi of Nawalparasi, who was found on the premises of the office, said that he had filed a complaint about the fraud six months back and he hoped that the online system would be easier. “I had lodged a complaint at the office about fraud six months ago, but I had to come to Kathmandu and spend a lot of money while staying in hotels.
Babita Bhattarai of Bhairahawa also said that she has been cheated on foreign employment. He said that his friend’s sister had cheated him of Rs 15 lakh, promising to send him to Croatia for employment. He said that he has come to the department to file a complaint in this regard and he is relieved to know that the case process will start online. “With the digital system, I will now be able to know about the progress of my case and what is happening,” he said. ”
