Department imposes fines on two firms, corrective directives to 10 firms

. The Department of Commerce, Supplies and Consumer Protection has fined two firms after they were found to be deficient during field monitoring.

The department has slapped a fine of Rs 20,TAG_OPEN_div_11 000 on Kisu Canteen. According to the department, the penalty was imposed as per Section 38 (d) of the Consumer Protection Act, 2075 for not keeping the purchase bill invoice.

Likewise, a fine of five thousand has been imposed on Calmera Pvt Ltd based in Jadibuti, Kathmandu.TAG_OPEN_div_9 The department has monitored a total of 12 firms and has given corrective directives to 10 firms.

The Department has made it clear that necessary directives and actions have been taken as per the Consumer Protection Act, 2075 and Consumer Protection Rules, 2076 while monitoring the industries and firms.TAG_OPEN_div_7 The Department has been regularly monitoring to maintain cleanliness in the market, stop the transaction of non-food items and issue invoices.
