More than Rs 29.5 billion worth of EVs imported from China in a year

. In the last fiscal year 2082/83, Nepal imported 31,532 electric vehicles (EVs) including unassembled vehicles.

According to the data of the Department of Customs, the government has collected Rs 17.TAG_OPEN_div_26 06 billion in revenue by importing EVs.

According to the data, China has the highest number of imported EVs with 26,03 TAG_OPEN_div_24 2 vehicles. Out of the import of EVs worth Rs 23.78 billion from China, revenue of Rs 13,790,953 was collected.

India has imported 4,64 TAG_OPEN_div_22 0 EVs in the second place. The government has earned Rs 2.80 billion in revenue while import of vehicles from India amounted to Rs 5.83 billion.

Similarly, 824 EVs were imported from Thailand worth Rs 23,67,57,002, generating revenue of Rs 15,TAG_OPEN_div_20 09,21,000. Similarly, 14 EVs from Germany, 12 from America, 8 from South Korea, one from Austria and 1 from the United Kingdom.

In terms of capacity, electric cars, jeeps and vans with a capacity of 51 kW to 100 kW have been imported the most.TAG_OPEN_div_18 A total of 6,357 vehicles were imported from China, India, Thailand and the United Kingdom. After this, 3,682 cars, jeeps and vans were imported from China and India.

In the three-wheeler category, unassembled electric three-wheelers have been imported the most.TAG_OPEN_div_16 A total of 10,805 unassembled three-wheelers and 9,059 ready-made electric three-wheelers have entered Nepal from China and India.

Similarly, 798 EVs with capacity of 101 to 200 kW and 10 high-capacity EVs of 201 to 300 kW capacity have been imported.TAG_OPEN_div_14 A total of 821 electric vehicles of other categories were also imported, according to the department’s data.
