Hotels take action against passengers for serving stale food

Dang. A hotel in Deukhuri area has been fined for serving stale food to passengers.

Chief of the Office of Food Technology and Quality Control, Padam Baral, informed that the East-West Highway Hotel based in Masuriya of Rapti rural municipality-3 along the East-West Highway was fined Rs 25,000. Assistant Chief District Officer Sabitra Pun and a team from the Office of Food Technology and Quality Control slapped Rs 25,000 in fine.

Baral said that the team fined the hotel for unhygienic food, storing stale food, using artificial colors in the cooked food, not having a proper structure of the kitchen, not pasting the price list, accumulating dirty water in the drain and foul smell in the kitchen.

According to Baral, the team reached the hotel for monitoring after the hotel was directed to improve it time and again in the past. As before, the monitoring team imposed the fine after there was no improvement this time. The District Administration Office has been directed to submit the fine within a week and also to submit the documents. The team also monitored seven hotels in Deukhuri area on Friday.
