Chitwan. The Chitwan Milk Industry has remained closed for the past three months due to shortage of milk. The industry, which has been producing powder and butter by processing milk brought by dairies and cooperatives, has been shut down due to lack of milk.

The industry used to process milk brought by dairies and cooperatives at a fixed fee. According to Durga Parajuli, manager of the factory, the industry used to shut down in June and July last year due to shortage of milk. The dairy and cooperatives kept butter and powder milk in the industry are on the verge of running out. Stating that there is not much stock of butter, he said that one thousand sacks of powdered milk are left.
