Kathmandu. The Ministry of Home Affairs has recalled Chief District Officer (CDO) Basudev Ghimire and chiefs of security agencies in connection with last night’s incident.
Ghimire has been recalled to the Ministry of Home Affairs and has been replaced by Sankhuwasabha CDO Ishwori Prasad Aryal.
Likewise, Deputy Inspector General of Police Binod Ghimire, who is also the chief of Koshi Province Police Office, has been transferred to the Police Headquarters, Kathmandu. DIG Shekhar Khanal of Nepal Police Headquarters has been sent to the Koshi Provincial Police Office.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Keshav Thebe, who is also the chief of the Sunsari District Police Office, has been deputed to the Gautam Buddha International Airport in Bhairahawa. SP Pushpa Raj Malla, who was working at the airport, has been deputed in place of Thebe.
Likewise, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Nanda Kishor Mahato of the Armed Police Force (APF) Kaptangunj has also been recalled. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Madan Nath has been transferred to the Armed Police Force Nepal Headquarters in Kathmandu in his place.
A person was killed in a clash between two groups at Kaptanganj of Dewangunj rural municipality-3 in Sunsari district on Sunday night. Nine civilians, 10 Nepal Police and five Armed Police Force personnel were injured in the incident.
A 5-member committee has been formed under the coordination of Joint Secretary Bhupendra Thapa of the Ministry of Home Affairs to investigate into the incident. The committee is expected to submit its report within a week.
The District Administration Office, Sunsari has imposed curfew order in some areas of Dewangunj and Harinagar rural municipalities from 7.00 am today.
