Kathmandu. Finance Minister Dr. KATHMANDU: The Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) has said that the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) should work for capital market development by improving the regulatory standards.
He said that he reached the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) on Monday for an on-site inspection.
On the occasion, he directed the board leadership to forward the task of capital market development with high morality. “After the appointment of the new chairman, the board is trying to move ahead with a long-term objective and I have found that it has had a positive impact in the market,” he said. ’
Stating that the Board has heavier responsibility than that of Nepal Rastra Bank in terms of scope of regulation, he directed the Board leadership to move ahead without getting distracted and protect the investors’ property.
Stating that the expectations of the investors in the market are high after the formation of the new government, Finance Minister Wagle directed the Board to consult with all sides while formulating the regulatory laws and implement them in a way that is common to all.
He also asked the board to hold adequate discussions with the stock market stakeholders and address the demands of the stakeholders. Finance Minister Wagle said he wanted to see the newly-appointed chairman’s announcement of making Nepal’s share market the second best and competitive market in Asia.
“I look forward to your announcement to make it the second best and most competitive stock market in Asia,” he told the board chairman. Protect the investor’s assets. Tell us what the government and ministry will support. ’
Chairman of the Securities Board of Nepal Dr. Gopal Bhatta said that the capital market development blueprint has been prepared and implemented.
He further said that the directives for IPO issuance, intraday transaction, margin landing and short selling in the primary and secondary markets will be prepared within mid-August and it will be implemented in August after consulting with the concerned sectors.
