Kathmandu. Vehicular movement has been affected on major highways and road sections in various districts of the country due to incessant rains, landslides and floods. According to Nepal Police, releasing details till 8:40 am today, some roads have been completely obstructed and vehicular movement has been banned on some roads at night.
All types of vehicular movement has been prohibited along the Khurkot-Nepalthok-Katunjebesi road section of the BP Highway linking Kavrepalanchowk and Sindhuli from 6:00 pm to 4:00 am in view of possible floods.
Similarly, all types of vehicles have been banned on the Kanti Highway from 5:00 pm to 5:00 am.
Ilam – Vehicular movement along the Mechi highway of Ilam Municipality-9 has come to a complete halt due to incessant rain.
Vehicular movement has come to a complete halt due to landslides that occurred at Jirokilo and Kodari areas along the Araniko Highway in Bhotekoshi rural municipality of Sindhupalchowk district.
The road section at Lamasanghu-Ramechhap section of Tamakoshi rural municipality-5, Kirnetar in Dolakha district has been obstructed after the Samakoshi river swept away the road.
The Pasang Lhamu road section at Khalte of Uttargaya rural municipality-5 in Rasuwa district has been completely obstructed due to the erosion by the Trishuli river.
The road section has been completely obstructed due to a dry landslide at Kanti Highway of Bagmati rural municipality-3 in Lalitpur.
Vehicular movement has come to a complete halt this morning due to a dry landslide that occurred along the Ghorahi-Thawang Martyrs Highway at Pariwartan rural municipality-1 in Rolpa.
Similarly, the Besisahar-Chyame-Manang road section of Marsyangdi rural municipality-4 in Lamjung district has also been completely obstructed due to landslide.
Police have urged one and all to take stock of the condition of the road and adopt necessary precaution before travelling as the risk of landslide, flood and road erosion is high during the rainy season.
