Kathmandu. Around 4 million kilograms of toilet paper, tissue paper, napkin and facial tissue have been imported from Nepal in a year.

According to the Department of Customs, Rs 698.49 million was outstripped of the import of 39,89,677 kg toilet paper in the last one year. The state has earned Rs 18.76 crore in revenue from the outflow of this amount.

According to the Department, Nepal imported the highest amount of toilet paper, tissue paper, napkin and facial tissue from India in the last fiscal year. In the last fiscal year, 3,354,640 units of toilet paper, tissue paper, napkin and facial tissue were imported from India.

The state has earned Rs 15.39 crore revenue for this. Bangladesh is the second country with the highest import of toilet paper and tissue paper. Bangladesh imported 402,467 kilograms of goods from Nepal while Rs 69,956,000 was exported from Nepal.

The state has collected Rs 1,94,65,000 in taxes. Likewise, 232,247 kg toilet paper, tissue paper, napkin and facial tissue were imported from China. For this, Rs 6,51,86,000 has been released. The state has collected Rs 1,41,66,000 in taxes.

Nepal imports toilet paper, tissue paper, napkin and facial tissue from Japan, Thailand, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong, the United States of America and Kuwait.
