Kathmandu. Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has inaugurated a newly-constructed 33-11 kV 6/8 MVA substation in Khadak Municipality-Pansera of Saptari district.

The substation is expected to bring significant improvement in the quality of electricity supply in various areas of Saptari district.

Under the project, 10-kilometer-long 11 KV transmission line has been constructed.

According to NEA, around 15,000 electricity consumers located in Kadmaha, Lalpatta and Kalyanpur areas of Khadak municipality and Surunga municipality will be directly benefited with the new infrastructure.

According to NEA, the problem of long low voltage, frequent line trip, and disruption in power supply in these areas will significantly decrease after the new substation comes into operation. This will improve the voltage profile and provide consumers with more stable, reliable and quality electricity service.

Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Biraj Bhakta Shrestha said this is a significant achievement in improving the quality of electricity service in Madhes state. Not only the government’s goal of increasing electricity production, he said that the government’s priority was to reach quality electricity to every household, industry and business.

Minister Shrestha said the campaign to modernize, secure and credible transmission and distribution system was taking place in a speedy manner throughout the country.
