Kathmandu. The Department of Transport Management (DoTM) has completed the printing of driving license cards that could not be printed for the past 4 years due to various technical and managerial problems and sent them to the concerned Transport Management Office. Issuing a press release on Wednesday, the Department stated that the printing of all the license cards remaining till Ashad 25, 2083 BS has been completed as per the agreement signed with the Security Printing Center on October 28, 2082.

According to the department, a total of 2,747,253 license cards have been sent to the Transport Management Office as of July 23. The department has clarified that the printing of license cards was delayed in the past due to problems related to printing machines, human resource management, software and other resources.

According to the department, the license card with less than one year left to expire has not been printed. Such service seekers can renew the license by visiting the Transport Management Office of his/her choice. After the renewal, the new license will be available for a period of 10 years.

The department has also said that the system has been improved to make the process of obtaining new licenses and renewals easier in the coming days. According to the Department, arrangements have been made to obtain details from the national identity card number, pay revenue online and correct the descriptive errors in the license.

Stating that the services related to the printing and distribution of licenses would be immediately available from the Transport Management Office, the Department has requested the concerned offices to contact the concerned office if the services related to printing and distribution of licenses are immediately available.
