Janakpurdham. The construction of the Postal Highway from Siraha to Sarlahi has reached the final stage. A total of 24 bridges have been constructed and more than 90 percent of the road has been blacktopped.

According to the Postal Highway Directorate, 347.63 kilometers out of 406.43 kilometers from Siraha to Sarlahi have been blacktopped. The construction of 19 bridges including three in Dhanusha, seven in Sarlahi, three in Mahottari and three in Siraha has reached the final phase. Out of the remaining 58.8 kilometers road, the tender process for 12.8 kilometers has already started.

Office Chief Krishna Kumar Mahato said that the project is being completed by the current fiscal year. Of this, 29.98 kilometers have been constructed in Siraha, 91.56 kilometers in Mahottari and 151.51 kilometers in Sarlahi. The East-West Postal Highway will be 1,792 kilometers long after the completion of the construction.
