Kathmandu. On the first trading day of the week, the stock market fell slightly. On Monday, the NEPSE index decreased by 1.20 points to close at 2,684.33 points.
Although the stock market has fallen, the volume of transactions has increased. A total of 1,14,49,000 units of shares worth Rs 4.57 billion were traded on the market today, compared to Rs 3.75 billion on Friday.
Out of 13 sub-groups, the indices of 8 sub-groups have increased while the indices of other five sub-groups have fallen. The indices of banking, development bank, hotel and tourism, hydropower, life insurance, microfinance, mutual fund and non-life insurance sub-group saw a slight increase while the indices of other sub-groups decreased.
Similarly, the shares of Everest Color Limited were traded at a positive circuit level today. The share price of Saptakoshi Development Bank has increased by more than 11.5 percent and the share price of Mahuli Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha has increased by more than 7 percent. Shares of Reliance Spinning Mills fell the most by 7.40 percent on the day.
Reliance Spinning Mills topped the list on the basis of turnover volume on Monday. Shares worth Rs 27.62 crore were traded on the day. Similarly, shares of Reedy Power Company Ltd worth Rs 210 million were traded on Monday, while Global IME Bank had a turnover of Rs 190 million.
