Around 11 lakh participants to get bumper gifts up to Rs 10 lakh, request to upload bills

Kathmandu. As of Monday, the number of eligible transactions for the Taxpayer Gift Incentive Program has reached nearly 11 lakh.

According to the Inland Revenue Department, the number of such consumer transactions reached 1,082,622 as of 12 noon on Monday.

This includes the number of invoices uploaded through QR transactions and cash transactions. The department estimates that the number will increase as the physical invoice received by the consumer can still be sent in cash transactions before the gift is announced.

According to Department’s Information Officer Keshav Raghuvanshi, 1 million 74 thousand 796 transactions made through QR transactions from July 15 to July 29 are eligible for the gift program.

At the same time, a significant number of consumers are participating in the physical bill uploading facility that was opened from Saturday. “A total of 1 million 82 thousand 622 transactions and billable transactions were made for midday gifts on Monday,” he said, adding that 1 million 74 thousand 796 transactions were made through QR transaction and 3,427 bills were submitted through cash transactions. ”

In the first 15 days (from July 15 to July 15), the department will soon announce a gift of Rs 100,000 to 15 people daily and one bumper prize of Rs 10 lakh.

Although the first incentive programme was announced to be made public on August 1, it was delayed due to lack of technical preparations, according to the department.

The department has requested the consumers who have taken cash transactions till the day before the announcement of the first incentive gift to enter it in their bill system.

The department has brought into operation the tax payer incentive portal from Saturday. In the budget for the current fiscal year, Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle announced the Taxpayer Incentive Program to encourage taxpayers.

Under the program, consumers who purchase goods and services worth more than one hundred rupees can participate in the incentive program. The government will give Rs 100,000 to one person every day by deducting tax and Rs 10 lakh in bumper to two people every month for 15 days. There will be a tax deduction on the bumper gift of Rs 10 lakh.
