Kathmandu. The District Administration Office, Kaski has initiated initiatives to ease the supply and distribution of cooking gas (LPG) in the market.

Assistant Chief District Officer, Chitrangat Baral, said that the monitoring has been intensified to prevent artificial shortage and black marketing. He said that the vendors in Pokhara have been warned not to store gas.

He said that 19 companies supplying cooking gas in Pokhara have been urged to ease the supply and distribution of cooking gas. “We are coordinating with the administration, we are also monitoring the market and as of today three bullets are entering Pokhara,” Assistant CDO Baral said. ”

A meeting of stakeholders held under the leadership of the District Administration Office a few days ago had decided to make the supply, sale and monitoring of LPG making effective. He said that the gas industry and dealers have been requested to keep a record of the receipt and distribution of gas on a daily basis, to update the name, address, contact number of the consumers and the details of the quantity sold.

Likewise, senior citizens above 70 years of age, people with disabilities and tenanted students have been urged to provide gas cylinders on a priority basis. The office has warned the buyers and buyers not to store gas unnecessarily, not to create artificial shortage and not to black marketeering.

Assistant CDO Baral said that the gas industry has also been urged to monitor regularly ÷whether the gas was distributed properly through the dealers. It has requested all sides concerned to cooperate in market monitoring and inform the District Administration Office or District Police Office in case of any irregularities.
