Kathmandu. Information Technology Officer of Myagang Rural Municipality in Nuwakot district, Birendra Tamang, has been arrested on the charge of taking bribe. According to the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), the CIAA team had started investigation on the basis of information and complaint that the service recipients were repeatedly harassed and asked for bribe.

According to CIAA, Tamang was arrested from Kathmandu Metropolitan City-16, Balaju on August 3 on the charge of taking Rs 100,000 as bribe from a service recipient in course of investigation.

According to the CIAA, the amount seized has also been confiscated. According to the CIAA, further investigation is underway on the corruption case related to bribery against Tamang after getting permission from the Special Court.
