Kathmandu. The Embassy of Nepal in Muscat, Oman has organized a programme entitled ‘Establishment of Trade and Relations’ with the objective of promoting trade and investment between Nepal and Oman.

According to the Embassy of Nepal, the event was recently organized on the issues of exportable products from Nepal, investment opportunities available in Nepal and expansion of business relations between Nepali and Omani businessmen.

Charge d’ Affaires at the Embassy in Nepal, Special Kumar Shah, said Nepal has prioritized Oman as an important partner for the promotion of trade and investment.

He expressed happiness over the first visit of a high-level business delegation from Nepal. He presented presentations on investment opportunities available in Nepal, investment process, institutional arrangements and why Nepal could be an attractive destination for Omani investors.

After the presentation, he paid tribute to Nadira Al Harthi, the first Omani woman to climb Mt Everest, and other climbers who died in avalanches.

President of Federation of Nepalese Export Entrepreneurs, Govinda Ghimire, highlighted the possibilities of products that can be exported from Nepal and the efforts being made by the FNCCI to promote export-oriented economy.

President of Federation of Handicraft Associations, Rabindra Shakya, shed light on the uniqueness and traditional skills of Nepali handicrafts and the business possibilities of Oman and the Gulf countries.

Various Nepali products were also exhibited on the occasion. More than 70 people including high-level business delegation from Nepal, CEOs, directors, representatives, media persons and Nepali businessmen based in Oman attended the program.
