. U.S. President Donald Trump has said that the United States has a “large arsenal” of “special weapons.”

Trump’s remarks came a day after CNN reported that the US was facing a shortage of weapons after an intensive military operation against Iran.

In an op-ed on Truth, Trump said defense companies were building the largest number of plants and factories in history in the United States, producing and dispatching weapons to the United States as needed.

CNN on Tuesday, citing two sources familiar with the latest investigative report, reported that the U.S. military had burned about 20 percent of its missile investigations and nearly half of its Patriot interceptors since the start of the Iran war, compared to pre-war numbers.

The issue of stockpiling of weapons has resurfaced even before Trump’s decision to cancel new attacks on Iran over the weekend, CNN reported. The U.S. military also used nearly all of its high-precision, long-range, surface-to-air weapons during the conflict, news reports said.

According to a report in The Washington Post on Wednesday, Trump lashed out at US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth at the presidential retreat at Camp David last week.

Trump asked Hegseth why he was misled into a shortage of extreme weapons that threatened to limit his military options with Iran, the paper said. In a post posted on Truth, Trump warned that the “leakers” of the statements were being sought and could face lengthy prison terms.
