Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Gauri Kumari Yadav, has directed the newly appointed Executive Director of Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC), Nagendra Shah, to work effectively to address the shortage of LP Gas across the country.

After taking the oath of office and assuming office, the Minister stressed to create an environment where consumers do not have to face problems due to shortage of cooking gas under any circumstances.

She directed to take all necessary steps to resolve the current problem. She said that the NOC should work with high priority to make the gas supply system more effective, regular and easy.

On the occasion, Minister Yadav instructed to excavate the source of natural gas based in Dailekh and take it to commercial production at the earliest and to forward the process for its effective marketization.

He said that the natural gas project of Dailekh should be expedited to fulfill the government’s goal of increasing self-reliance in energy sector through the maximum utilization of domestic natural resources.

On the occasion, Minister Yadav directed the corporation to strengthen internal good governance, increase institutional transparency and accountability and perform result-oriented work in order to enhance its credibility and public trust.

Stating that the government has accorded top priority to consumer-friendly service, good governance and optimum utilization of domestic energy sources, Minister Yadav stressed that the NOC should carry out works accordingly.

Executive Director Shah, who took the oath of office and secrecy, pledged to work in a way to ease the gas supply management, strengthen corporate governance and maintain consumers’ trust by implementing the directives given by the Ministry with priority.
