Kathmandu. Locals of Rohini Rural Municipality in Rupandehi district have obtained land ownership certificates after 58 years of surveying the then Bodhwar and Parsa Village Development Committees.

A total of 324 land ownership certificates were registered in the area which was set up as a village block in 2025 BS and 271 land ownership certificates have been distributed to the concerned landowners today.

The distribution is seen as a historic achievement for local residents who have been waiting for a certificate of legal ownership of their land for decades.

It is expected that with the acquisition of the land ownership certificates, the ownership of the land would be legally assured, and it would be easier to trade, transact banking and other administrative services.

Locals have expressed happiness over getting the land ownership certificate in their name after a long wait of 58 years.
