Jhapa. The Inland Revenue Office (IRO) has collected Rs 4.93 billion in revenue in the last fiscal year.

The office had a target of collecting Rs 6.06 billion in revenue. Around 81.31 per cent of the target revenue has been collected.

Information Officer at the Office, Dilliram Chaulagain, said that out of the collected revenue, income tax was Rs 2.41 billion, VAT was Rs 1.66 billion and excise duty was Rs 678.95 million.

Similarly, the office collected Rs 56.678 crore as rent income tax, Rs 9.36 crore as interest tax and Rs 2.63 crore as other headings. The office has jurisdiction in Ilam, Panchthar and Taplejung.
