Kathmandu. At present, there is the influence of monsoon wind throughout the country. According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the monsoon trough is located around the normal place at present.

At present, the weather is generally cloudy in the mountainous and hilly areas of the country. The weather will be partly cloudy in the Tarai region of Madhes and Koshi Province while the weather is mainly clear in the Tarai region of Gandaki, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces. Light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is taking place at some places of Koshi, Gandaki, Bagmati and Karnali provinces.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, there will be generally cloudy in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces as well as in the mountainous and hilly regions of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces towards the afternoon. Likewise, there will be partly cloudy in the Tarai region of Madhes and Sudurpaschim province. Likewise, moderate to ÷snowfall is likely to occur at some places of the mountainous and hilly regions of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces. Likewise, moderate rain is likely to occur at few places of the Tarai region of Madhes, Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces and at one or two places of the Tarai region.

Similarly, it will be generally cloudy throughout the country tonight. Light rain or thunder and lightning is likely to occur at some places of the mountainous and hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces and at a few places of Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces÷. Likewise, moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely to occur at some places of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces and at one or two places of the Madhes region.

The Division has urged the residents of these areas to adopt the necessary precaution as the risk of mudslide, flood, landslide and soil erosion will increase due to heavy rainfall. Daily life, agriculture, health service, tourism, mountaineering and road and air transport services could be affected, so they have been urged to stay alert.
