Kathmandu. Today, the government, which has not been able to supply gas to the consumers on time, has raided five-star hotels.
Industry Minister Gauri Kumari Yadav has sent the Department of Commerce, Supply and Consumer Protection under the Ministry of Industry to the five-star hotel Radisson in Kathmandu.
The ministry has said that even though the gas in the hotel is only enough for about 1 week, it has been hidden for months.
According to the Ministry, 184 gas cylinders were found in the hotel alone. A total of 117 full cylinders of Nepal Gas and 67 cylinders of STC Gas were found in the hotel.
According to the department, 70 cylinders were found being used in the kitchen of the hotel.
The hotel has 263 rooms. There are 30 apartments. The inspection conducted today under the direction of Minister Gauri Kumari Yadav did not look at the apartments. Normally, 45 to 50 gas cylinders are consumed if food is prepared for 500 guests in a star hotel.
The hotel is connected to 70 gas cylinders every time.
According to hotel operators, at least 17-18 gases are consumed daily even when the hall is not booked for the program. Normally, 184 cylinders can be consumed within a week.
Therefore, if the gas in the Radisson Hotel is all full, it will be consumed in 1 week. “The government has committed a big crime by keeping gas sufficient for a week in a five-star hotel,” said an official of the hotel. ”
According to him, the government is trying to show this inefficiency to the star hotels when it is unable to provide gas to the people.
