Kathmandu. Nepal Telecom (NTC) has made the SIM transfer process of GSM postpaid mobile phones easier. Now, customers can fill up all the details required for SIM transfer online.

In order to transfer the postpaid SIM card in the name of one person to another person, the customer has to pay the name transfer fee and only for final verification at the nearest Nepal Telecommunication Office or Customer Service Center for the final verification.

Nepal Telecom’s spokesperson Dr. Kamal Lamichhane said that the required details for the transfer of name can be done through the customer login portal.

The OTP will be received on the customer’s mobile after logging in to the portal and entering the related mobile number. After OTP verification, you will have to fill in the personal details of the existing customer and the new customer to be transferred.

Similarly, five mobile numbers called during the last one month should also be mentioned in the nomination process.

After filling all the details online, they have to contact the nearest Nepal Telecom office or customer service center for final verification. The final verification can be done by the customer himself or through his/her designated representative along with original citizenship by paying the prescribed fee for transfer of name.

Nepal Telecom has said that the compulsion to complete the process by staying in the office for a long time will be reduced after the arrangement of filling up the required details online. It is expected that the transfer process will be easier as the customers who cannot be present in the office in person can do the final verification through the representative.

For now, this online naming service is available only for individual customers. Corporate customers, on the other hand, have to be present at the concerned office and complete the process for SIM transfer.

According to Dr. Lamichhane, the new system will make the postpaid SIM transfer process simpler, convenient and customer-friendly.
