Kathmandu. At present, there is the influence of monsoon wind throughout the country. The monsoon low pressure trough is around the normal place in the east and close to the northern part of Nepal in the west.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, rainfall is taking place in western Nepal due to its influence. Baitadi, Kanchanpur, Kailali, Bardiya among other places have been witnessing excessive rainfall lately. Syangja, Nawalpur and other places also recorded excessive rainfall.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, there are chances of moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning at many places of the mountainous and hilly regions of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces towards the afternoon.

Similarly, moderate rain with thunder and lightning is possible at many places of Gandaki, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces, and at a few places of Koshi and Bagmati provinces. Heavy rain is predicted in the hilly region of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, and at some places of the Terai region of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces. According to Meteorological Forecasting Division, heavy rainfall is likely to occur at one or two places of the Tarai region of Lumbini Province.

Light rain will occur in some places while light snowfall is predicted in high hilly and mountainous area. Likewise, moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely to occur at some places of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces and at a few ÷places of the Madhes province tonight.
