Trump administration says Iran is preparing for a nuclear attack

. Former U.S. Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene has claimed that President Donald Trump’s administration is holding “high-level discussions” on a possible nuclear weapon against Iran. However, he has not made public any evidence or documents to support his claim.

Greene said in an X message on Sunday that the discussions were taking place between senior White House officials.TAG_OPEN_div_38 According to him, the Trump administration is working towards reducing the limit of nuclear action against Iran.

He also claimed that the administration was ignoring the internal assessment of US intelligence agencies. He said the assessments indicated that Iran was not on the verge of developing a nuclear weapon. He also accused Washington of basing warnings from Israel on more than enough to make decisions about Iran.

Greene warned that any decision to use nuclear weapons against Iran could escalate regional conflicts, cause “significant human casualties” and a “serious economic crisis”.TAG_OPEN_div_34 Recalling that Trump had promised that he would not go to any foreign war, he said that the escalating tensions could have the opposite effect.

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Greene’s claims.TAG_OPEN_div_32 Neither the U.S. government nor defense officials have publicly confirmed preparations for a nuclear strike against Iran or a change in U.S. nuclear policy.

Greene’s comments come amid escalating military and political tensions between Washington and Tehran.TAG_OPEN_div_30 The US has been increasing pressure on Iran by maintaining control over key sea routes, including the Strait of Hormuz. Iran, on the other hand, has rejected the US move and has warned against US military build-up in the region.

Iran’TAG_OPEN_div_28 s top military chief, Amir Hatami, has announced a reward for anyone who captures or kills a U.S. soldier. This has further intensified the tense rhetoric between the two countries.

Diplomatic efforts aimed at reaching a long-term agreement on Iran’s nuclear program have so far failed to yield concrete results.TAG_OPEN_div_26

Greene has been an overall supporter of Trump, but has been critical of his foreign policy on Iran.TAG_OPEN_div_24 After the June 2025 attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities, Greene accused the Trump administration of abandoning its campaign promise to distance itself from foreign military intervention and regime change campaigns.

The latest claim puts Greene again on the side of disagreement with the Trump administration’s foreign policy. But he has not stopped portraying himself as a supporter of Trump.

Despite escalating military tensions in the region, there is no official indication that the United States is pursuing a policy of using strategic or strategic nuclear weapons against Iran.TAG_OPEN_div_20 So Greene’s latest claims about the use of nuclear weapons remain unsubstantiated.
