Kathmandu. Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle handed over bumper prizes and prize money to two winners of the first fortnight of the month of July under the Tax Payers Incentive Award.
He handed over the prize money to the winners at a programme organized to announce the second fortnightly taxpayer incentive award for the month of July at the Ministry on Monday.
Hemraj Joshi of Dhangadhi had won a bumper prize of Rs 10 lakhs for the first fortnight of Saun. He got a gift of Rs 10 lakh for buying an electric bulb worth Rs 250.
Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle handed over a cheque of Rs 10 lakh. On the occasion, Finance Minister Dr. Wagle urged Joshi to be the ambassador of the government’s taxpayer incentive award. He also urged them to invest the prize money in good works.
“Hemrajji, congratulations. You are the first bumper gift winner. Be the ambassador of this program of the government, spread the message of ‘give and take the bill’ in the society,” said Finance Minister Dr. Wagle said.
Likewise, Himal Aryal of Gaindakot, Nawalparasi, who won Rs 1.33 lakh, was also awarded by Finance Minister Dr. The award was handed over by Wagle. He won a prize of Rs 1,33,334 for eating ice cream with his friends. He received a cash prize of Rs 100,000 after deducting 25 percent tax from the prize money.
Other winners of the first 15 days will receive cash prizes from the Inland Revenue Office this week.
