Kathmandu. The government has started systematizing and strictly regulating online business following strict instructions from Industry Minister Gauri Yadav. The Department of Commerce, Supplies and Consumer Protection has directed all businesses selling goods and services through website, app, social network or other digital means to be enlisted in the portal of the Department.

The Department has warned of action if the online business is conducted without following the legal process as per the Electronic Trade Act, 2081 and Directive, 2082. The government has taken strict measures to make digital business more transparent and systematic following a rise in complaints of consumer fraud and online transactions.
