Kathmandu. Nepal Medical Council (NMC) chairperson Dr. Dhundiraj Poudel has been appointed. Newly appointed President Dr. Minister for Health and Population Nisha Mehta administered the oath of office and secrecy to Poudel on Wednesday.

Dr. Dr. Poudel is a senior ENT specialist. He was working as the head of the Department of Nose, Ear and Throat and Professor at Nepalgunj Medical College, Kohalpur. Prior to this, he had served in different capacities at Bir Hospital, Bheri Hospital, Bharatpur Hospital and Dang Hospital.

He has passed MS Gold Medal in Nose, Ear and Throat Surgery from the Institute of Medicine, Tribhuvan University. He completed his MBBS from the same institute.

Dr. Dr. Poudel has also worked as an executive member and coordinator of the Ethics and Examination Committee of Nepal Medical Council.
