Kathmandu. US President Donald Trump has said that there are no immediate plans to negotiate with Iran.
“There are no talks or talks with Iran and there are no immediate plans for negotiations,” Trump said in a “Truth” post.
“The U.S. naval blockade of the Strait of Homuz is in full force and effect, and that the Strait of Hormuz operates “completely free and unimpeded,” Trump said.
Trump’s comments came after special envoy Jared Kushner told Fox News that talks between the US government and Iranian authorities are “more active than ever”. However, he indicated that no agreement has been reached from the talks so far.
Iran and the United States have expressed conflicting views on the Strait of Hormuz. Iran has reiterated its insistence that it will not open its waters until the U.S. maritime sanctions are lifted, including the lifting of sanctions.
Meanwhile, Kushner described the talks that took place at different levels and on different sides of the US government and the Iranian government.
