Kathmandu. MAW Motors Pvt. Ltd., the authorized distributor of Dongfeng Nami in Nepal, today announced the launch of its new electric SUV ‘Nami Vigo E2’ in Nepal.
The Vigo E2 is powered by a 95kWh electric motor, a 52.3kWh battery and a range of 430km.
The design of this vehicle is based on the ‘Rubik’s Cube’ concept. It has triangular crystal tower taillights, geometric design rear view mirrors, semi-hidden door handles and special design wheels.
Vigo E2 supports 3C fast charging technology and can charge the battery from 30% to 80% in about 18 minutes on a DC fast charger.
The vehicle has already reached challenging destinations including Manang, Mustang, Shuklaphanta, Kalinchowk and Solukhumbu. It has a ground clearance of 185-190 mm.
The company claims that the interior of Vigo E2 has also been prepared to give a premium experience. The vehicle has a 12.8-inch central touchscreen and a digital instrument cluster. The cabin offers comfortable seats, ambient lighting, wireless charging and multimedia facilities.
The front seats of the Vigo will come with electric adjustment and ventilation features. It seems that the comfort of the driver and passengers is given priority on long journeys.
The body of the Vigo is designed to look different from a normal hatchback or crossover. At the front, it features a modern headlight design, a semi-recessed door handle on the sides and a unique taillight design at the rear. The company says that it is based on the ‘Rubik’s Cube’ design concept.
The Vigo comes with features such as ABS with EBD, traction control, electronic stability control, hill-start assist, rear parking sensors and rear camera.
Its price has been fixed at Rs 35.99 lakh. Bookings can be made at the NADA Auto Show to be held from August 9. Speaking at the launch, Mr. Vishnu Kumar Agrawal, Managing Director of Vigo E-2 said, “The Vigo E2 is a perfect SUV for family use.
Mr. Agrawal said, “Vigo E-2 has proved its mettle in the challenging geography of Nepal. He said that the vehicle has already reached Manang, Mustang, Solukhumbu, Kalinchowk and Shuklaphanta.
Starting from a small workshop in Biratnagar in 1964, MAW’s journey has now become the largest automobile group in Nepal.
Dongfeng has become the second largest Chinese EV importer brand in Nepal. He said that there are more than 2,000 customers across the country. He urged interested customers to book on time as the bookings for Nami Vigo are more than 45 days and the demand is expected to increase till Dashain.
