Kathmandu. One hundred electric vehicles have entered Nepal through Korala border point in the first month of the current fiscal year.
According to the Mustang Customs Office, Rs 290 million in revenue has been deposited in the state treasury from the import of electric vehicles and other goods through the customs point in the past one month.
A total of 10 containers are being cleared daily through the customs checkpoint, said Bidur Chudalal, chief of the customs office.
In the last fiscal year, three thousand electric vehicles were imported from Nepal. In the last fiscal year, Rs 6.92 billion revenue was collected. This border point has been developed as a new route for EV import.
