Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Nepal School Employees Council (NSC) has called off its protest programmes after the government decided to increase the remuneration of school employees by Rs five thousand per month.
Issuing a joint press release today, Council Chairman Ganga Ram Tiwari and General Secretary Shantinath Yogi welcomed the decision to increase the salary of the school staffers. However, the Council has demanded to address the demands of the school staffers including perks and facilities, career development, professional and social security, necessary posts and permanent management.
As per the decision of the government, the remuneration grant that the federal government provides to early childhood development facilitators, school staffers and school helpers has been increased by Rs 5,000 per month.
With this, the remuneration of an ECD facilitator has increased from Rs 12,000 to Rs 17,000, that of school helper from Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000 and that of an account staff has increased from Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000.
