More than 3.9 million cylinders of cooking gas imported in July: 29 percent more than last year

Kathmandu. More than 39.5 million LPG was imported in the month of July. According to the statistics of the Department of Customs, more than 3,954,077 cylinders of cooking gas were imported in the first one month of the current fiscal year 2083/84.

A total of 573,34,106 kilograms of LPG was imported in the month of July. The import of LPG has increased by 29 percent compared to the previous fiscal year 2082/83. In the last fiscal year, Nepal imported 44 million 18 thousand 893 kilogrammes of cooking gas (LPG).

This means that the consumption of gas in Nepal has increased in the month of July as compared to the last year. Nepal imported 3,056,475.379 cylinders of cooking gas in the first month of the last fiscal year.

In the current fiscal year, 897,600.897 cylinders have been imported more than the last year. Although the import of cooking gas was higher in the current fiscal year as compared to the last fiscal year, there is a shortage of cooking gas in the market.

Consumers say that the problem of gas shortage seen in the market since the first week of July is still there. Even now, the gas depot is not able to sell cooking gas to the consumers easily.

Consumers have complained that the problem of gas shortage that started from the first week of July continues till August 24.
