Kapilvastu. The ‘Bharadwaj Oil Factory’ has been established at a cost of Rs 120 million in Mayadevi Rural Municipality-5, Sihorawa.
The industry, which was established with the objective of creating employment at the local level, has started producing edible oil called rice bran.
According to manager Om Shankar Upadhyay, the industry has provided employment to 80 people, and the industry aims to produce 4,500 metric tonnes oil annually. He claims that rice bran oil is one of the most useful oils for human health.
The oil produced by the industry is fortified with vitamins ‘A’ and ‘D’. “Our goal is to produce good and quality oil for the human body,” he said. Currently, it is selling cooking oil at Rs 365 per liter.
Mayadevi Rural Municipality Chair Wali Uddin Musalman said the establishment of the industry has provided employment to the locals.
