Influence of monsoon wind active across the country: Heavy rain in these places, road and air transport affected

Kathmandu. At present, there is the influence of monsoon wind throughout the country. According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the monsoon low pressure trough is around the average location.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, light to TAG_OPEN_div_22 rainfall is generally to occur at some places of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces and at a few places of Koshi, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, and at one or two places of the Madhes province.

According to the Meteorological Bulletin issued by TAG_OPEN_div_20 the Division, the weather will be generally cloudy throughout the country this afternoon. Possibility remains for ÷brief rain÷snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning in some places of the high mountainous region. Similarly, thunderstorm accompanied with gusty winds is likely to occur at many places of the hilly region of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces and at a few places of Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces÷.

Likewise, moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely to occur at some places of the Tarai region of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces and at a few places of the Tarai region including Madhes TAG_OPEN_div_18÷ Koshi province. There are chances of heavy rain in one or two places of the hilly region of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.

According to the Division, it will be generally cloudy throughout the country tonight.TAG_OPEN_div_16 According to Meteorological Forecasting Division, there are chances of moderate rain and snowfall at some ÷places of the mountainous region of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces and at a few places of the mountainous region of Lumbini, Karnali and ÷Sudurpaschim provinces. Light rain or thunder likely to occur at some places of the hilly region of Koshi, Bagmati Province, Gandaki Province and Lumbini Province and at one ÷or two places of Karnali Province and Sudurpaschim Province tonight.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, there are chances of moderate rain accompanied by ÷thunder and lightning at some places of Madhes, Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces and at a few places of the Tarai region of Sudurpaschim province.TAG_OPEN_div_14 Heavy rain is predicted in the hilly region of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.

The Division has urged the people to adopt necessary precaution as there is a risk of disasters like mudslide, flood, landslide and soil erosion in the areas where there is a possibility of heavy rainfall.TAG_OPEN_div_12 The Division has urged one and all to be updated as daily life along with agriculture, health, tourism, mountaineering, road and air transport are likely to be affected in these areas due to inrainfall.
