Okhaldhunga. Two houses were completely gutted in a fire that broke out at Charkhu of Siddhicharan municipality-4 on Tuesday evening.

The fire broke out in a two-storey house belonging to local Kotmaya Karki due to short supply of electric wires. The fire also caused damages to the two-storey house of Gyan Kumari Karki, said Police Inspector at the District Police Office, Shekhar Kumar Sah.

The fire was brought under control with the help of Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, fire engine from Siddhicharan municipality and locals. The fire gutted the house of Kotmaya Karki, utensils, clothes, jewellery worth Rs 20,000 and Rs 20,000.

The fire destroyed Gyan Kumari Karki’s house along with food grains, clothes, two tola gold ornaments and Rs 50,000 in cash, according to police. However, no human casualties or livestock have been reported in the incident, police said.
